COVID-19 Guidelines

Subject to state and local COVID-19 restrictions, the league will follow these competition guidelines and modifications to the standard set of league rules:

  1. Competition may be held either indoors or outdoors.
  2. For athletes, coaches, or other observers at competitions or practices held indoors, face coverings are recommended, but not required.
  3. When on the sidelines or not actively playing, 6 foot distance should be maintained between people at the event.
  4. Anyone with COVID symptoms (fever, cough, etc.) or who is in isolation/quarantine while recovering from a COVID infection should not participate in practice or competition. Temperature or wellness checks before each activity are encouraged where possible.
  5. All participants should wash or sanitize their hands (using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer) before and after competition or practice.

League Rule Modifications for Outdoor Competition

In the event that a team competition will be played outdoors (rather than indoors), these rule allowances should be followed for the matches:

  • A player is allowed to wait before serving, if he or she feels that the current conditions (wind, etc.) are going to interfere with the ball during the point.
  • During a rally, either player or can raise a hand in the middle of a point to call a let in the case of any sudden change in playing conditions (due to wind, weather, etc.) that may affect the point. Upon calling a let, the point will replayed.
